Here For You - Experienced Attorneys Providing Personalized Service

Marlow, Woodward & Huff, Prof. LLC is a general practice law firm that has been part of the Yankton community for over 50 years. Our attorneys have expertise in many different practice areas, including Personal Injury, Banking & Creditor Rights, Estate Planning, Civil Litigation, Business Law, and Real Estate. This breadth of knowledge allows us to provide "big firm" legal expertise while still giving each client "small firm" personalized service. Our commitment to client service is reflected by the fact that most of our new business comes from referrals from current clients, former clients, or professional advisors.

We believe that legal problems can be complex, and our clients deserve as many resources as possible. That's why we take a team approach when handling cases. Our attorneys work together, so if one is not available, someone familiar with your case is usually able to answer a question. This approach ensures that our clients receive the best possible service and outcome.

Our attorneys are also committed to their community. Many serve as directors for numerous non-profit agencies and have long-standing relationships with many Yankton non-profits. We are active in the South Dakota State Bar Association and the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association.

Our Practice Areas

We offer a wide range of legal services, including:

  • Personal Injury: We represent individuals who have been injured due to the negligence of others.
  • Banking & Creditor Rights: We provide legal services to banks and other financial institutions, as well as individuals and businesses facing creditor issues.
  • Estate Planning: We help individuals and families plan for the distribution of their assets after death.
  • Civil Litigation: We represent clients in a variety of civil lawsuits, including contract disputes, property disputes, and personal injury cases.
  • Business Law: We provide legal services to businesses, including formation, operation, and dissolution.
  • Real Estate: We assist clients with real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, and leasing.

Our History

Our office is located in the Wilcox Block, a building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Wilcox Block was designed by John Hopper Coxhead for E.P. Wilcox, Esq. in 1889 and originally housed the corporate headquarters of Western Portland Cement Co. and the Dakota Territorial Bank. The building still retains its original bank vaults, which are now a part of our office.
