A Career in Law Enforcement and Prosecution
My path into the legal profession was not conventional. With a strong interest in the law, I studied criminology at Florida State University and later became a deputy sheriff with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. I quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a narcotics detective and a member of the SWAT team. However, it was during my time as a narcotics detective that I began to realize the injustices of the system and the need for a stronger defense for those accused of crimes.
A Career in Prosecution
After completing law school, I began my career as a criminal prosecutor with the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Court in Hillsborough County. For over two years, I prosecuted a wide variety of criminal cases, including DUIs, traffic violations, child abuse cases, and more. During this time, I honed my skills in jury trials, non-jury trials, and courtroom procedures. However, as a prosecutor, I began to feel like there were individuals who were facing criminal charges without fair representation.
Changing Directions
In 2008, I decided to open my own firm, putting my knowledge and experience to use in a new way. As an attorney, I am committed to providing strong legal defense to those who need it most. I believe that everyone deserves a strong defense, and I am dedicated to making that a reality for my clients.
