William Ponall is a Board Certified Criminal Appellate Attorney with over 13 years of experience in handling appeals and post-conviction matters in state and federal courts throughout Florida. He is one of fewer than 25 private attorneys in the State of Florida who holds the prestigious designation of Board Certification in Criminal Appellate Law. With a proven track record of success in cases involving serious offenses, William Ponall is a trusted and respected advocate for those seeking justice.

Experience

William Ponall has spent years honing his skills in criminal appeals and post-conviction relief, serving as a Staff Attorney for the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Atlanta, Georgia, before entering private practice. Prior to that, he was a partner with prominent law firms in Orlando, gaining valuable experience from some of the most esteemed attorneys in the field. His impressive credentials include being selected as a Rising Star in 2012 and a Super Lawyer in Appellate Law in 2013, 2015, and 2016.

Education

William Ponall graduated with Honors from the University of Florida and the University of Florida College of Law, where he earned the Book Award for the highest class grade in Florida Constitutional Law and a scholarship for his outstanding performance in various classes related to Constitutional Law.

He is a member of The Orange County Bar, The Orange County Bar Appellate Practice Committee, The Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has served as the President of the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and has previously served on the Board of Directors for both the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
