Angus Cameron Lawyers is a distinguished criminal defence firm that practices in all Victorian Courts. We are a boutique firm, where clients have direct access to our experienced lawyers, all of whom have reputations for sound judgment and fearless advocacy. Our lawyers appear daily as courtroom advocates in the Magistrates', County and Supreme Courts of Victoria, giving us specialist knowledge of the Judiciary. Legal Practice

Angus Cameron Lawyers, under the direction of Angus Cameron, works with clients at every stage of the criminal process - from police investigation to jury trial - and handles cases of every variety, including all forms of: homicide; sexual offences; serious drug offences; assault and injury offences; burglaries; and dishonesty offences. With extensive experience running trials, committals, bail applications and plea hearings in all Victorian Courts, our firm has the expertise required to provide our clients with clear and timely advice about: what to do during a police investigation; what to do if you have been charged with a criminal offence; how to understand your brief; how to navigate the Court system; how to get bail; how drug addiction or mental illness might affect your defence; the costs involved in defending a criminal charge; and whether or not you qualify for legal aid.

Appeals Practice

In addition to our day-to-day practice, we also have a growing appeals practice and are well experienced running appeals in the High Court of Australia, the Victorian Court of Appeal and the County Court of Victoria. We also act in proceedings which are related to the criminal law, such as property confiscation and intervention order applications.

*Sharon Wylde*

Sharon serves as the Business Administrator for our firm, bringing over two decades of management expertise. In her multifaceted role, Sharon handles our business accounts, strategic development initiatives while also performing paralegal duties. Sharon holds a Masters of Business Administration from RMIT and is driven by a passion for innovation and strategic vision. She is committed to cultivating a collaborative and empowering business culture, supporting our team and clients to thrive together.

*Angus Cameron*

Angus is recognised by the Law Institute of Victoria as an Accredited Specialist in Criminal Law and he is a member Victoria Legal Aid's Panel for Indictable Crime. He has extensive knowledge in all areas of criminal law, having acted for clients in a range of complex matters, including murder trials in the Supreme Court, complex fraud cases and historical sexual abuse cases. Prior to working in private practice, Angus worked at Fitzroy Legal Service, where he developed a particular interest in the relationship between mental illness, drug use and criminal law.

*Sean Ghattas*

Sean holds a Juris Doctor from La Trobe University and a Bachelor of Arts with first class honours in Philosophy from Deakin University. Prior to commencing with Angus Cameron Lawyers, Sean worked with Fitzroy Legal Service and the Neighbourhood Justice Centre assisting marginalised members of the community navigate the legal system. Sean appears daily in the Magistrates' Court of Victoria in summary and indictable matters and regularly defends clients charged with offences such as burglary, drug trafficking and causing serious injury.

*Georgia Kaye-Helmot*

Georgia is an experienced and passionate criminal defence lawyer who appears daily as an advocate in the Magistrates' and Children's Courts of Victoria. She also manages complex trials in the County and Supreme Courts of Victoria as an instructing solicitor. Whilst studying at Melbourne and Monash Universities, Georgia volunteered at the Law and Advocacy Centre for Women where her interest in criminal law first developed. Following her admission to practice, Georgia worked at a private criminal defence firm in Melbourne where she gained specialised knowledge in the defence of young people accused of serious crimes.
